Scotland’s annual exhibition and conference for highway
maintenance and traffic management professionals.
R4 recently exhibited at RoadExpo Scotland & were
inundated with enquiries about suitable applications for tyre bales. Michael
Kerr R4’s Business Development Manager was very pleased with the
quantity and calibre of the visitors at the show. All the visitors he
spoke to were very excited about the prospect of using tyre bales as a
recycled alternative to virgin material in road construction applications,
and we even had some new potential uses suggested to us from the visitors.
Thanks to all the people who took time out to call at our stand and to
all the customers who have contacted us since as a result of our exhibition.

Grand Designs TV Programme
featues a house build made from car tyres. The property was inspired by
the Earthships which are a common as alternative homes in New Mexico.
WRAP Tyre Programme
R4 gave a presentation to delegates at the WRAP sponsored Tyre Programme
in the Emirates Stadium in London. R4's MD Lynn Kerr gave a presentation
on how the PAS 108 for tyre bales would be benficial in promoting the
use of tyre bales in engineering and construction projects.
Waste or Recycle - The Tyre Perspective
Effective tyre management and tyre recy cling are vital components for
any transpor tation business. R4's Managing Director Lynn Kerr offered
a brief insight into how the industry can balance their environmental
and legislative requirements with their eco nomic needs at the CIWM Transport
Hub Torbay England.
STEM Project Award Winners
Collecting Tyres & Collecting Awards - Another month, another award!
R4 were pleased to receive the STEM Project award for “Outstanding
contribution to Creating a Sustainable Future” at the recent conference
in the Armagh City Hotel. The award was presented by UTV’s Environmental
Correspondent Mr Brian Black and RTE’s Duncan Stewart.
CIWM Waste Conference & Exhibition
R4 again supported our trade assocaitoin by taking a stand at CIWM Waste
Conference in the Slieve Donard Hotel Newcastle. Then President of the
CIWM Mr Keith Simmonite visited our stand for an update on our achievemnts
with R4 Business Development Manger Michael Kerr.
R4 have invested in new software

Practice what you preach!
R4 have once again been successfully audited against the internationally
recognised environmentally standard ISO 14001. The audit of all the company’s
activities was carried out in September 2008 by NQA.
R4’s site manager William Spence was particularly pleased with the
award having taken great pride in maintaining and improving the environmental
impact of the companies activities over the past year.

WRAP Tyre Programme
R4 Managing Director travelled to Chelsa FC to participate in the WRAP
Tyre Programme. The event was setup to facilitate discussion with the
key stakeholders in the tyre industry and find new opportunities on ways
to recycle tyres in the UK.
CIWM Conference - Armagh
Bi Annual event which R4 exhibited at in the Armagh City Hotel.

cross border event on waste recycling and environmental matters.

Gold In Waste Fair
Another recycling event to exhibit at. This first time event was located
in St George's Market, Belfast.
Belfast City Council Waste Event
Recycling event organised by Belfast City Council outside Belfast City
Hall. The event attracts loads of householders interested in finding out
what the council does with their waste. R4 exhibits to show the many uses
for recycled tyres collected from BCC Civic Amenity Siteslocated throughout
the local authorities area.
